- Hezhou in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is China's first "Longevity City", according to Longevous Hezhou, a report released in early January by Professor Li Yonghua, a member of the International Experts Committee on Population Aging and Longevity.

- An aviation service station in the central area of Gangkou district in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, opened to the public on Jan 6.
- The launch ceremony for four highways in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was held on Dec 29, 2015. The four highways are the Laibin-Mashan (Laima), Mashan-Pingguo (Maping), Liuzhou-Wuxuan (Liuwu) and Guanyang-Fenghuang (Guanfeng) highways.
- The Landian Yao ethnic group is a branch of the Yao nationality. At present, more than 1,700 people of the group live in Fengshan county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. They still maintain the custom of planting indigo plants and using them to dye cloth.
