Villagers in SW China Make Sweet Potato Vermicelli for Spring Festival

Residents filter the smashed sweet potatoes at Qingxiang Village of Xinjie Town in Guilin City, a tourist resort in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Jan. 21, 2016. The tradition of producing hand-made vermicelli out of home-grown sweet potatoes has been passed down for 400 years. Villagers are now busy making sweet potato vermicelli for the traditional lunar New Year, which starts from Feb. 8 this year.
