- Liuzhou's tourism has been thriving in recent years, thanks to its famous tourist attractions such as the Miao buildings and Baili River. Liuzhou is about 40 minutes away from Guilin by bullet train.
- From July 17th 2014, there are flights link Huangping airport of Kaili and Liangjiang international airport in Guilin, which means travelers who interest in natural scenery and ethnic minority villages has better transportation options.

- An opening ceremony for a painting exhibition by Li Junlong was held at Liuzhou Art Museum on June 13, according to Liuzhou Daily. The exhibition will continue until June 22.
- The Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regional Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development recently examined 46 national traditional villages in the autonomous region, among which six are in Liuzhou. Development plans in the six villages passed the review.
