Hechi Area of Guangxi Village Farmers Basketball Tournament Ends

The Hechi city-level competitions of the 4th Guangxi Village Farmers Basketball Games ended in Fengshan county on Aug 29.

Gujin village's basketball team from the Luocheng Mulao autonomous county won the title in Hechi competition area, qualifying for the regional level games on behalf of Hechi.

Dahua's Shengping village was the runner-up, with the third place going to Yizhou's Pingnan village and the fourth to Huanjiang's Dongxing village.

Players of the competing teams are required to be farmers within an administrative village. Having started in this February, the games are held in four stages: township level competitions from February to May, county level games from June to July, city level matches from August to September and the regional final in November.

According to an official from Guangxi Sports Bureau, this year's games include men's basketball, men's and women's set shots and men's and women's dribble shots shuttle relay.

Guangxi Village Farmers Basketball Games is among Guangxi's top 10 competitions. It has become a mass sports event, attracting the highest number of participants and covering the largest areas.
