Air Quality in Guangxi Cities Improves in May
The urban air quality in Guangxi's cities in May took a turn for the better compared with April, according to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Environmental Protection Bureau.
In May, the mean value of Guangxi's PM10 concentration was 49 micrograms per cubic meter, a decrease of 32.9 percent compared with April this year, and the average value of PM2.5 concentration was 29 micrograms per cubic meter. In the ranking list judged by air quality comprehensive index, Fangchenggang ranked the first and Guilin ranked the last.
From January to May, the mean value of Guangxi's PM10 concentration reached 76 micrograms per cubic meter and the average PM2.5 concentration was at 53 micrograms per cubic meter. Fangchenggang remained the first and Yulin was the last in the air quality comprehensive index ranking.
Guangxi carried out air quality monitoring in all its 14 cities, about whether the contents of air, such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, PM10, PM2.5, carbon monoxide and ozone, reached the secondary standard of air.
