Guizhou Guiyang to Nanning Guangxi High-speed Railway to be Constructed
The high-speed railway from Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, to Guangxi's capital city of Nanning will begin construction at the end of 2015. It will take six years to complete, according to the Chendu railway bureau.
The high-speed railway will open in 2021 and will shorten the journey time between the two cities to two hours.
The designed speed of the railway, which covers 533 kilometers, is 350 kilometers per hour, with a total investment of $11.8 billion.
The high-speed railway will set up seven stations in Guizhou covering 200 kilometers.
"The high-speed railway between Guiyang and Nanning is needed to connect the high-speed railways between Chongqing and Guizhou, Chengdu and Guiyang, and it will hugely benefit provinces such as Guizhou, Guangxi and Sichuan as well as Chongqing municipality," said officials from the Chendu railway bureau.
In line with the Chendu railway bureau, the review of the feasibility study of the railway took place on January 5, during which the feasibility study was modified on the basis of review comments.
"The designed speed of the railway reaches 350 km/h, the actual speed may be 300 km/h, and the CRH380 bullet train will run on this line," said officials from the Chendu railway bureau.
