Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Leads Guangxi Economic Growth
According to Guangxi Statistics Bureau on Feb. 2, Beibu Gulf Economic Zone (Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang) maintained a sound development momentum in 2014 with a GDP of 544.821 billion yuan. Its annual growth rate of 9.5% was higher than Guangxi's average growth rate and that of Xijiang Economic Belt. The growth rate of major economic indicators such as fiscal revenue, industry value, investment, consumption and export & import volume all exceeded Guangxi's average level. The Zone has become an important engine driving the economic development of Guangxi.
In 2014, its GDP accounted for 34.8% of Guangxi's GDP with 38.7% of contribution rate to Guangxi's growth. The two figures were both higher than those of 2013. Its fiscal revenue in 2014 reached 78.264 billion yuan, up by 9.6% (1.5 percentage point higher than Guangxi’s average). The fiscal revenue made up of 39.7% of Guangxi's total fiscal revenue and its contribution rate to Guangxi’s total fiscal revenue was 46.5%.
In addition, among four cities within the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, Nanning ranked the toppest in terms of GDP, fiscal revenue and fixed assent investment.
