Liuzhou and Guilin in Joint Tourism Effort
The cities of Liuzhou and Guilin, in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, held a symposium, on May 18, in Liuzhou to discuss bilateral tourism cooperation and development, especially in view of the growing number of Koreans visiting Guilin in recent years, accounting for one out of every 12 visitors, according to the city’s tourist administration.
An administration official explained, “Guilin doesn’t have many special tourism products for Korean visitors, but the old site of the ROK interim government in Liuzhou could really fit the bill.”
In response, several dozen heads of Guilin travel agencies paid a visit to Liuzhou to check its scenic spots and were amazed at how it has changed over the years. Some even called its night scenery and the ethnic minority customs in Sanjiang Dong county breathtaking and exactly what Guilin needs for its own tourism.
